Biography

Mike is the Research Director at Market Measures and is the first point of contact for many clients using Market Measures for the first time.

After a period doing academic research, Mike left higher education to join the world of market research.

Mike joined Marketing Sciences in 1980 and after a number of years there, left to form Market Measures with his colleague Phil Gurd as long ago as 1986.

“Bringing numbers to life, is what I like doing.  Quant research need not be boring.  In truth, unless you get the results across in a lively and relevant manner, the message may be lost.”

Mike’s main research interests include market modelling, pricing, optimization, statistics and predictive procedures.

When he’s not working, Mike does a bit of archery (having once held one of the national records), loves travelling to exotic locations, spicy food, watching his rubbish football team and building a collection of the worst movies ever made.
