Retail research is something we do a lot of and is something we are very good at. We work across a wide range of sectors and use various methodologies to answer any questions our clients might have.

We run continuous customer tracking surveys for prominent wholesale, supermarket and DIY Shed retailers, tracking store performance and advising on the most effective way to maximise levels of customer satisfaction.

We work with store location planners to profile people in retail centres and surrounding catchments to understand which locations provide the closest demographic and attitudinal match for new store openings.

We work with Retail Consultancies and Private Equity Investors to help inform them about the potential value of retail businesses from the point-of-view of the customer. These surveys usually focus on understanding competitive reasons for spend and the competitor landscapewhere retailers sit in comparison to competition, and why people choose to use them rather than shopping elsewhere.

We work with various shops and Department Stores, running customer profiling surveys and helping them better understand who their customers are and where they live.  We regularly carry out customer segmentations, to understand the demographic and attitudinal profile of customers to inform marketing and merchandising strategy.

We often use customer databases to enable us to contact our clients’ customers.  This can be using on-line surveys, on-line forums and telephone interviews. We also create Online Communities usingyour own customer database for recruitment.

We also work with manufacturers to help them understand the performance of their products in-store and the decision making process at the point of purchase.  We carry out projects on range optimisation, pricing and product layout.  This can be on-line or via observation and interviews carried out in-store at specific fixtures to give insight into customers’ decision making at POP.
